Olusheyi Lawoyin's career as a public health practitioner and an emerging international psychologist has been largely influenced by her experiences traveling and living internationally. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia, she collaborated with the Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services to improve HIV prevention and care services at the community level. She also worked with local and international non-government organizations on youth development programs and services. She currently works as an Executive Administrator at a Federally Qualified Health Center, and has spent close to two decades working in underserved communities in the United States and several countries on the African continent.

Olusheyi graduated from George Washington University's School of Public Health and Health Services with a Master of Public Health (MPH), and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.
