Born and raised in Maine, Mike first realized the importance of international travel and cultural exchange in college while on a service trip to Cap-Haitien, Haiti. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, he worked closely with small business owners, taught entrepreneurship classes, and spent countless hours drinking tea and exchanging ideas with his host family. After Peace Corps Mike joined PYXERA Global, a DC-based nonprofit that partners with Fortune 500 clients to design and implement social impact programs. As a program coordinator, he worked closely with teams in India and Nigeria on community-led development projects to support agrarian communities in improving their livelihoods and resiliency.
During COVID, Mike moved to Chicago to attend business school and transition into the food industry. He currently works in brand management at Conagra Brands, with the long-term goal of leveraging the scale and innovation of the private sector to build a more sustainable, healthy, and equitable food system.
Mike has a BA in Economics & Environmental Studies from Bowdoin College and an MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, learning new languages, and cheering on Boston-based sports teams.
